GPFP is now an official 501c3 Non-Profit

Months of hard work by many hands and minds have paid off, in today’s mail we received our 501c3 approval from the IRS.  Greater Portland Family Promise can now apply for all eligible grants and receive funding from all sources.

This is a huge achievement to have started this part of the project at the end of April and submitted our paper work by June 2 with our own unique bylaws, affiliate agreement, conflict of interest policy, articles of incorporation from the State of Maine, and budget as well as all of the language needed to describe our mission and work to the IRS.  On September 1, we were approve by the IRs.   We are thankful to those who leveraged their skills to bring this all together in record time.
We have already raised nearly $25,000 without our full Non-Profit Status.  We have high hopes that we can raise the rest needed in time for our launch this coming January.
